Most crash detection platforms stop at the alert. Ours doesn’t. Sentiance is the only provider offering real-time crash detection for both cars and motorcycles within a single SDK.
Whether it’s a sedan or a scooter, we deliver actionable Crash Insights without extra integrations, sensor kits, or assumptions. That’s a game-changer for platforms that serve diverse mobility use cases.
Because what happens after the alert is what really matters.
Beyond alerts, into answers
Crash Insights is our next-gen crash solution, adding rich, contextual data to Crash Detection. It doesn’t just say “A crash happened.” It gives you the how, when, and why. This context transforms detection from a technical feature into a business-critical solution for:
- Insurance claims
- Emergency response
- Liability investigation
- Fraud detection
Clients can visualize each crash in detail, like location, speed at impact, Delta-V, g-force, and severity, through our dashboard or via API.
Real-world impact
Here’s how one insurance partner used Crash Insights:
A driver submitted a claim, reporting a major rear-end collision. But the Crash Insights data showed only minor deceleration and no post-impact vehicle stop. It wasn’t a crash. The claim was dropped, saving time, cost, and resources.
That’s the power of having forensics, not just flags.
The three levels of insight
Crash Insights is available in three clear packages:
- Crash Detection: On-device detection only, with no data sent to the cloud. Ideal for privacy-first applications and quick validation.
- Crash Detection with forensics: Adds a crash report showing what happened before, during, and after the impact. Includes map view, road context, and environmental factors.

- Crash Detection with full trip analysis: Goes beyond the crash. Access second-by-second trip data, even when no crash was detected, to investigate fraudulent claims.

Built for cars and motorbikes
Not all crashes look the same. A side-swipe in traffic, a low-speed tip-over, a high-impact collision, they each leave different sensor signatures. That’s why Crash Insights includes two purpose-built crash detection models: one for cars and one for motorbikes. Unlike other platforms, Sentiance supports both motorbike and car Crash Detection within a single SDK instance.
That means for gig economy apps, where a user might switch from scooter to car and back, you can detect both vehicle types simultaneously, without managing two separate integrations.
🚗 For cars
The model uses accelerometer and GPS data to detect abnormal impact events. A combination of rule-based thresholds (e.g., Delta-V and pre-crash speed) and machine learning classification determines whether a crash occurred. All detection runs on-device, enabling immediate alerts without requiring connectivity.
In crash lab testing:
- 95% of high-impact crashes (at 26 km/h) were successfully detected
- 77% of low-impact crashes (at 13 km/h) were picked up as well
These results reflect real-world performance, optimized for both safety-critical response and claims workflows.
🏍️ For motorbikes
The motorcycle crash model is built on confirmed, real-world crash data from 125cc motorbikes and is tuned for scenarios where the phone is mounted on the handlebars.
It uses a neural network-based approach to assess changes in speed, motion, and phone orientation before and after the suspected impact, to determine crash likelihood.
With a detection rate of approximately 85% in the field, it’s a powerful tool for post-crash analysis and insurance claims investigation.
Tested and proven
Both models are rigorously tested and validated using:
- Car crash lab simulations with dozens of phone models
- Over 1 million real-world trips
- Continuous tuning based on actual claims data
- SDK-level filtering to rule out false alerts (e.g., phone drops, potholes)
Whether it’s a motorbike gig rider or a family sedan, Crash Insights adapts seamlessly across transport modes, with the SDK automatically selecting the appropriate model per trip. No extra configuration required.
Why it matters
The first 60 minutes after a crash, the golden hour, can be the difference between life and death. But what happens after those 60 minutes matters too. Was the user injured? Was someone at fault? Was the claim justified?
Crash Insights provides the answers when they matter most.
From detection to direction
Detection is one thing. But insight is what drives action.
If you’re building safety, claims, or mobility products, Crash Insights gives you the context to act fast, reduce risk, and support your users in their most critical moments.
